Types of FSSAI Food License
FSSAI Food License Registration - There are three types of FSSAI licenses. These categories depend upon the type and size of the food business and its total annual turnover as well.
FSSAI Basic Registration
If the annual turnover of the business is less than 12 lakhs then the food business operator shall get registered with Registration Form A. OR For Dairy Plant having capacity of upto 500 Litres of Milk per Day and For Manufacturing Unit- Upto 100kg production per day.
FSSAI State License
If the annual turnover of the business is between 12 to 20 crores then the food business operator shall apply for State license Form B. OR Dairy Plant having capacity of upto 50000 Litres of Milk per Day and For Manufacturing Unit- Upto 2MT per day Production.
FSSAI Central License
If the annual turnover of the business is above 20 crores, then the food business operator shall apply for Central License Form B. OR For Dairy Plant having capacity of above 50000 Litres of Milk per Day and For Manufacturing Unit- more than 2MT per day Production. FSSAI Central License is mandatory for Ecommerce Website Owners and Import Export Business.

Every food business operator involved in the manufacturing, processing, storage distribution and sale of food products must compulsorily obtain FSSAI Registration or License.
It is a 14-digit registration or a license number that is printed on all the food packages. The licensing and registration procedure and requirements are regulated by Food Safety & Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Regulations, 2011.
All business that is into some part of the food supply chain is required to have a valid FSSAI-issued license. In other words, yes. An FSSAI license is required for all businesses that are into food and food products. It is a mandatory requirement for all businesses in the country that is engaged in the manufacture of food and food products, to acquire an FSSAI certificate. The FSSAI certificate can be acquired from the website of the FSSAI department.
